**Tomorrow's Watermark Tips (20/10/07) **
Caulfield Cup Day has traditionally been a happy hunting ground for me. The rail is always placed six metres out and generally on paced runners have some advantage, particularly early in the day.
I must say that Jason Kerr has done a great job with the Caulfield surface. Lets hope Terry Watson at Flemington takes a leaf out of his book and presents a GOOD track for Cup week.
Our best bet for Caulfield tomorrow is PILLAR OF HERCULES in race four, the Norman Robinson Stakes.
This Rock Of Gibraltar 3YO has been out of luck at his past two starts, firstly in the Stutt Stakes at Moonee Valley and then again last Saturday when chasing home Weekend Hussler in the Caulfield Guineas.
He hit the line really well last Saturday and drops considerably in grade for this. His only danger appears to be Villain, who will be a short priced favourite.
The best value runner for the meeting may well be FIRE IN THE NIGHT in race seven. He has always shown a good deal of potential and was impressive running down Itstheone last start at Geelong. He stays down in the weights and is likely to be even better suited at the 2000m.
