PERCENTAGE GROWTH
Percentage growth is a no-nonsense trend screen that expressed the values as a percentage of growth. Put simply it is the dollars bet at each update compared with how much money had previously been bet. So for instance if a runner had attracted $10,000 in bets but at that one update punters placed a further $6,000 the value shown would be 60%. If a vaue goes negative that likely denotes a significant bet cancellation. As with all of the trends screens the same color coded shortening info applies to each value and are used together. For instance the value could be 30% but be grey (price not changed), this would happen if on average all runners grew by 30%. This happens because the percentage growth is based on the approximate dollar growth which is specific to the runner but the color coding is based on the approximate dividend growth which is relative to the other runners in the field. Once punters are used to this format a lot of information can be imparted very quickly to aid in decision making.
